Earnings
The Earnings tab covers rent collected by month, quarter, or financial year, an expense breakdown, per-property yield, and the Records section for expenses, your ledger, and tax summary.
The Earnings tab is one of Propero's three bottom tabs (Home, Earnings, Chat). It's your portfolio-wide and per-property view of everything money-related: what you've collected, what you've spent, what each property is yielding, and the documents you can generate for your records or your accountant.
On this tab
- A Month / Quarter / Financial year total, with collected rent as the headline figure
- A chart of collected rent across the current financial year. Tap a bar for that month's collected, spent, and net
- An expenses breakdown by category, once you've recorded spend in the selected period
- A row for every property, showing received-vs-expected and yield (once a purchase price is set)
- A Records section with three rows: Expenses, Rent ledger, and Tax summary
Tap ? in the top right to open this page inside the app. Tap + to record an expense.
Where each figure comes from
| Figure | How it's worked out |
|---|---|
| Collected | Rent you've recorded as received in the selected period. Rent paid in instalments counts each instalment in the month it arrived |
| of $X expected | What the rent schedule had due in the same period, so you can compare what came in against what was scheduled |
| Chart bars | Collected rent per month for the current financial year (1 July to 30 June), whatever the Month/Quarter/FY control says. Tap a bar for collected, spent, and net |
| Spent | Expenses you've recorded plus maintenance invoices, dated to the month they fall in |
| Expense breakdown | Your spend in the selected period by category, largest first |
| Received vs expected (property rows) | The same collected-against-scheduled comparison, per property |
| Gross yield | The next 12 months of scheduled rent divided by the property's purchase price |
| Net yield | Gross yield less your trailing 12 months of recorded costs, as a percentage of the purchase price |
Nothing on the tab is estimated or projected. Every figure is built from your recorded rent payments and expenses.
Rental ledgers and tax summaries are free on every account. Neither is gated behind Propero Pro.
