Open for inspections
Schedule viewing times from the property hub when your listing is live, so they appear on realestate.com.au, Domain, and rent.com.au.
Open for inspections (OFIs) are the scheduled viewing times that appear on your portal listing. Prospective tenants use them to plan a visit, and the major rental portals expect at least one advertised time on an active listing.
You manage OFIs from the property hub once your listing is Live. Propero sends the times to realestate.com.au, Domain, and rent.com.au for you.
Adding a time
- Open the property hub and go to the Advertising section.
- Tap Open for inspections.
- Choose a date and start time. Propero sets a default end time, which you can adjust.
- Save. The time appears on your listing on each portal.
You can add multiple times across different days. Each one shows on the portals separately, so renters can pick the slot that suits them.
Editing or removing a time
Tap an existing OFI to change its date or time, or to remove it entirely. Updates sync to the portals. If a slot is no longer going ahead, remove it promptly so you don't get enquiries for a time you can't honour.
Private inspections
Not every enquiry will come through a scheduled OFI. Renters may email or call to ask for a private viewing instead. Those enquiries arrive directly from the portals, the same way as general listing enquiries, and you're free to arrange a one-off time that works for both of you.
Tips for running an inspection
- Arrive early and make sure the property is accessible: keys, garage remotes, and any entry instructions are ready.
- If the property is still tenanted, give your current tenant reasonable notice before any inspection, and stick to the times you've advertised.
- Have your application process ready. Propero doesn't collect applications for you, so decide upfront how you'll handle references, ID checks, and lease signing.
- Log advertising costs under the Advertising expense category if you want them in your EOFY summary. See Income & expenses.
