Editing tenant contact details

Tap a tenant on Lease Overview to open Tenant Details and change their name, email, or mobile. Contact details are editable on the current lease only.

A tenant's name, email, and mobile can be changed at any time while their lease is current. Everything else about a tenancy, the lease terms, the dates, who's on the lease, is fixed once it's created. See Leases & tenancy agreements.

Open the Tenant Details sheet

Typo'd an email, or your tenant changed their number? Open Lease Overview from the property hub's Lease pulse card, then tap the tenant's row in the Tenants card.

There's a second way in. If a reply to a tenant bounces, the Fix email button in Chat opens this same sheet. See Tenant emails in Chat.

What you can change

The Tenant Details sheet has three fields:

FieldRule
Full nameRequired
EmailOptional, but it has to be a valid address if you enter one
MobileOptional

Saving

Save only lights up once something has actually changed. The footer reads "Used for rent receipts, notices, and the messages you send from the app.", and turns red with the blocking rule if a field isn't valid.

Tap Save and your edits appear on Lease Overview straight away with a Saving caption until the server confirms. Once confirmed, the caption clears. If the save fails, Propero rolls your changes back and shows a message so you can try again.

Keep the email current

The email here is the address Propero matches incoming tenant emails against, and the address a reply goes to. Mail from anywhere else is dropped without a bounce, so the address on the record has to be the one you gave your tenant. See Setting up your address.

It's also the address used for rent receipts, condition reports, and the maintenance updates Propero drafts for you. See Communicating with tenants.

What still can't change

You can edit contact details on the current lease only; tenants on an ended lease are read-only history. Changing who's the lead, or adding or removing a tenant, still means ending the tenancy and starting a new lease.
