Leases & tenancy agreements
Lease Overview holds read-only terms, everyone named on the lease, and your signed agreement as a PDF under 5 MB. Changing terms means a new lease.

Read-only lease details
Lease Overview shows:
- Lease type: Fixed Term or Periodic
- Start date, and end date (fixed-term leases only, a periodic lease has none)
- Rent, as both the total per payment period and the underlying weekly rate
- Payment frequency
- Status: Pending (starts in the future), Active, Expiring, Expired, or Terminated
These were all set when the tenant and lease were created. You cannot edit lease terms from this screen, on purpose: once a notice or a termination is recorded against a lease, editing its terms afterward would undermine the paper trail those tools rely on.

Tenants on the lease
Everyone named on the lease is listed here with their email, plus Email and Message buttons that hand off to your Mail or Messages app addressed to them. The lead tenant carries a Lead badge. See Communicating with tenants for how those buttons work.
Upload your signed lease
Attach the signed agreement as a PDF only (photos aren't accepted, and the file must be under 5MB):
- Open Lease Overview
- Tap Options
- Choose Upload Lease Agreement, or Replace Lease Agreement if one's already attached
Upload only works while there's an active lease. Once it's up, tap the document any time to preview it, it stays attached to that tenancy for your records.
Change lease terms
There's no mid-lease editor. To change rent, frequency, dates, or anything else about the agreement:
- End the current tenancy (see Renewals & ending a tenancy)
- Tap Start New Lease on Lease Overview
Starting a new lease runs the same setup flow as adding a tenant for the first time: a fresh tenant record and lease with the new terms, not an edit of the old one.

Adding a tenant
Tenant and lease details are captured in one flow. Add co-tenants up front, pick a main contact, and know that details can't be edited afterwards.
